Key calls for high-efficiency cogeneration:
- FENX.11.02 Support for critical energy infrastructure and system-level heat storage – The call for applications is open only until September 30, 2026! The call covers the construction of system-level heat storage facilities designed to enhance energy security, particularly by ensuring operational capability during emergency modes. Independent energy storage facilities that do not need to be directly linked to a single energy source are eligible for support.
- Cogeneration – 1.4 (Cogeneration for Energy and Industry, Part 2). Call scheduled to open. Financing for investments in the construction and/or reconstruction of generation units with a total installed capacity of at least 0.5 MW operating under high-efficiency cogeneration conditions.
- District heating and cogeneration – 1.6 (District Cogeneration), 1.12 (District Heating): Calls scheduled for Q4 2026. Investments in the construction and/or reconstruction of generation units with a total installed capacity of at least 1 MW will help stabilize energy prices and meet the requirements of an efficient district heating system.
- Biogas – 3.9 High-efficiency cogeneration from biogas produced from biomass, including municipal waste: Call for proposals planned to launch in Q3/Q4 2026.
2. E-mobility infrastructure
A lack of adequate grid infrastructure is currently the biggest barrier to the development of electric fleets. Companies that invest in the grid in 2026 will become key links in the green transportsupply chain.
- 1.1 (Construction/expansion of power grids for publicly accessible high-power charging stations): Call for proposals planned to start.

3. Digitalization and Storage

- 1.8 (Digitalization of Heating Networks)
- 1.16 (Thermal energy storage in district heating)

4. Intelligent infrastructure: the brain of modern power engineering
Planned call opening:
- 1.2 (Power engineering – Intelligent energy infrastructure) is the answer to the greatest challenge facing the current grid: its transition to a Smart Gridmodel. Funding will cover monitoring, automation, and energy flow management systems.
5. Renewable energy in district heating
Planned call opening:
- 1.7 (Renewables – heat sources for district heating) is a must-have project for district heating systems looking to avoid the drastic costs of CO2 emission allowances (the ETS system). Support covers installations using solar energy, geothermal energy, heat pumps, or biomass for district heat production.
