EcoVadis rating: a comprehensive tool for assessing sustainability

We will prepare your company for an EcoVadis rating. We will support you in filling out the EcoVadis questionnaire, analysing the documents and interpreting the results. We will also help you effectively share the assessment in your supply chain.

EcoVadis System

EcoVadis is one of the most comprehensive sustainability assessment tools in the world. The platform has been operating since 2007 and evaluates both private and public companies for their environmental, social, ethical impact. Over the past ten years, EcoVadis has built a global network of more than 65,000 companies assessed.

The EcoVadis system stands out from other ESG rating agencies in that it focuses on the reliable verification of evidence, not just declarations and commitments. Thanks to this, the rating is highly trusted, and the obtained rating (medal or badge) has a real impact on the positive market reception.

The tool can be used by all organizations and is particularly effective in providing transparency and risk assessment in the supply chain. This is due to the fact that companies cooperating with EcoVadis — the so-called buyers — can invite their suppliers to participate in the evaluation. After the invitation is sent and the supplier joins the system, the company ordering the assessment receives notifications about the progress of the process and the results.

At VIVERNO we support our customers at every stage of the EcoVadis certification process — from the application, through the preparation of the necessary documentation, to obtaining the final score. Our experience and expertise allow us to successfully guide companies through the requirements of this recognized platform. With a deep understanding of EcoVadis methodology and many years of experience in ESG strategy, environmental management and corporate social responsibility, we help companies not only meet the requirements of the assessment, but also build a sustainable and well-thought-out strategy for sustainable development.

Cooperation with us is more than a one-time support — it is a partnership that allows to improve the quality of environmental, social and ethical activities in the company. We know that maintaining a high EcoVadis rating requires a long-term approach and strategic planning — therefore, when advising our clients, we always take into account the potential of their development in the coming years. We successfully support businesses in building transparency, accountability and competitive advantage — through reliable preparation for the EcoVadis assessment.

The score of a given company is on a scale from 0 to 100 points. The organization can get the following medals:

  • platinum — top 1%,
  • gold — top 5%,
  • silver — top 15%,
  • brown — top 35%.

In addition, badges are awarded:

  • Committed company — minimum score of 45 points,
  • progressive company (Fast Mover) — a score of 34—44 points and an increase of at least 6 points from the previous rating in the last 18 months.

The rating is valid for 12 months from the moment of publication.

Participation in the EcoVadis assessment is not legally required, but for many organizations it is an important element of cooperation with trading partners. Companies that take the assessment often gain greater transparency and trust in business relationships, which can have a positive impact on further cooperation.

The key ranges are:

  • environment (environment),
  • labour and human rights (labour and human rights)
  • Ethics in Business (Ethics)
  • Procurement system (Sustainable Procurement).

EcoVadis has defined 21 criteria in these categories based on international sustainability standards.

Answer: Yes, EcoVadis requirements are tailored to the size of the company. Organizations are classified according to the following categories:

  • XS (1-25 employees),
  • S (26-99 employees),
  • M (100-999 employees),
  • L (from 1000 employees).

Thanks to this classification, EcoVadis adapts both the number and the detail of the questions in the questionnaire to the capabilities of the individual.

The range of materials required by EcoVadis depends on the scale of the company's business — both in terms of size (XS, S, M, L), industry or location. EcoVadis evaluates in proportion to the capabilities and context of the business — even a small business can get a good result if it provides well-documented and reliable information. Typical documents are: policies, certificates (ISO, OSH), environmental reports, risk assessment cards or anti-corruption procedures.

The results of the assessment are usually published within 6—8 weeks. However, this time may vary depending on the company profile and the individual approach of the people conducting the analysis on the EcoVadis website.
