EcoVadis is one of the most comprehensive sustainability assessment tools in the world. The platform has been operating since 2007 and evaluates both private and public companies for their environmental, social, ethical impact. Over the past ten years, EcoVadis has built a global network of more than 65,000 companies assessed.
The EcoVadis system stands out from other ESG rating agencies in that it focuses on the reliable verification of evidence, not just declarations and commitments. Thanks to this, the rating is highly trusted, and the obtained rating (medal or badge) has a real impact on the positive market reception.
The tool can be used by all organizations and is particularly effective in providing transparency and risk assessment in the supply chain. This is due to the fact that companies cooperating with EcoVadis — the so-called buyers — can invite their suppliers to participate in the evaluation. After the invitation is sent and the supplier joins the system, the company ordering the assessment receives notifications about the progress of the process and the results.

Jak wygląda system punktacji EcoVadis?
Wynik danej spółki mieści się w skali od 0 do 100 punktów. Organizacja mogą uzyskać następujące medale:
- platynowy – górny 1%,
- złoty – górne 5%,
- srebrny – górne 15%,
- brązowy – górne 35%.
Dodatkowo przyznawane są także odznaki:
- zaangażowana firma (Committed) – wynik min. 45 punktów,
- postępowa firma (Fast Mover) – wynik 34–44 punktów oraz wzrost min. 6 punktów względem poprzedniej oceny w ciągu ostatnich 18 miesięcy.
Na jaki czas przyznawany jest rating EcoVadis?
Ocena jest ważna przez 12 miesięcy od momentu publikacji.
Czy udział w ocenie EcoVadis jest obowiązkowy?
Udział w ocenie EcoVadis nie jest wymagany prawnie, jednak dla wielu organizacji stanowi istotny element współpracy z partnerami handlowymi. Firmy, które przystępują do oceny, często zyskują większą przejrzystość i zaufanie w relacjach biznesowych, co może pozytywnie wpływać na dalszą współpracę.
Jakie obszary są oceniane przez EcoVadis?
Kluczowe zakresy to:
- środowisko (Environment),
- prawo pracy i prawa człowieka (Labor & Human Rights),
- etyka w biznesie (Ethics),
- system zamówień (Sustainable Procurement).
EcoVadis zdefiniowało w tych kategoriach 21 kryteriów opartych na międzynarodowych standardach zrównoważonego rozwoju.
Czy wymagania EcoVadis różnią się w zależności od wielkości firmy?
Odpowiedź: Tak, wymagania EcoVadis są dostosowane do wielkości firmy. Organizacje lasyfikowane są uje firmy wg następujących kategorii:
- XS (1-25 pracowników),
- S (26-99 pracowników),
- M (100-999 pracowników),
- L (od 1000 pracowników).
Dzięki tej klasyfikacji, EcoVadis dostosowuje zarówno liczbę, jak i szczegółowość pytań w kwestionariuszu do możliwości danej jednostki.
Jakie dokumenty należy przygotować, przystępując do oceny w EcoVadis?
Zakres wymaganych przez EcoVadis materiałów jest zależny od skali działalności firmy – zarówno pod względem wielkości (XS, S, M, L), jak i branży czy lokalizacji. EcoVadis dokonuje oceny proporcjonalnie do możliwości i kontekstu działalności – nawet mała firma może otrzymać dobry wynik, jeśli dostarczy dobrze udokumentowane i rzetelne informacje. Typowe dokumenty to: polityki, certyfikaty (ISO, BHP), raporty środowiskowe, karty oceny ryzyka czy procedury antykorupcyjne.
Ile czasu zajmuje proces oceny EcoVadis?
Wyniki oceny publikowane są zazwyczaj w ciągu 6–8 tygodni. Czas ten może się jednak różnić w zależności od profilu firmy i indywidualnego podejścia osób dokonujących analizy po stronie EcoVadis.
