Energy efficiency audit
Conscious enterprise management is largely based on constant monitoring and detection of its shortcomings. This also applies to energy efficiency and measures to identify energy losses. They should be undertaken on an ongoing basis and form part of a routine internal audit.
In order to maintain or increase the high level of energy efficiency of an industrial plant, it is necessary to:
- study the energy intensity of production,
- evaluate the efficiency of the equipment,
- regularly compare the technical condition of working devices with their modern counterparts.
Conducting an energy efficiency audit is a way to determine the energy effect and determine the economic profitability of a modernization project.

We had the pleasure of working with VIVERNO on a comprehensive project aimed at a detailed analysis of energy intensity and the carbon footprint of our production process (for OSM Łowicz UHT milk and cream) – both before and after process optimization. The scale and nature of the task required in-depth expertise and a precise approach to every stage of the project.
The collaboration involved a detailed identification of processes and energy carriers on both our existing and new production lines, as well as the development of a measurement methodology and energy consumption analysis. All stages of the manufacturing process were analyzed, which allowed for an accurate determination of the energy intensity of milk and cream production on both lines. The VIVERNO team precisely identified optimal measurement points and provided recommendations on metering methods.
The next stage of our collaboration was a comparative analysis of the production process carbon footprint, which accounted for raw material transport, in-plant manufacturing, and the packaging used. This provided us with valuable data to evaluate the results of the implemented optimizations and confirm the level of emission reductions declared during the funding application process.

What is the difference between final energy and primary energy?
Final energy is energy that has been processed and delivered to the final consumer (e.g. electricity, network heat, process steam). Primary energy, on the other hand, is energy obtained directly from the environment in primary energy carriers (e.g. energy fuels).
Does the energy efficiency audit apply to the entire production facility?
The energy efficiency audit does not concern the entire production plant, but only the area covered by the balance sheet limits, which is the subject of the modernization.
